I don't know of anyone referring to the R1/9 subway car class as boring, considering that there were once over 1700 of those cars running around the system. The R143/160/179 are essentially the 21st century version of the R1/9. Unfortunately differences in proprietary technology has help limit interoperability between NTT car classes. |
