Not true. The MP75s and their older, MP72 brethren were converted from MU electrics to loco-hauled push-pull coaches in the 1973-74 prtiof. This was done in order to replace non-AC diesel cars that were in many cases 50 years old in 1973. The MP75s and MP72s ran in diesel service till about 2000. By then the oldest MP72s were 45 years old.
