It would be less expensive to use an existing trunk line as opposed to building a major system to service a branch line. Plus, the Eastern Parkway lines capacity would not be overtaxed with extending one of the existing Div A lines onto a Utica Avenue Subway line.However locating suitable space for a car storage facility would have been a difficult task even in the early 1970's. |
