The leadership's gotten only worse and worse through Thabo Mbeki and the worst yet, Jacob Zuma. The rape rate went from 5,100 per year in 1994 to an unacceptable 43,000 per year under the "free" regime. Olog you sure you want to tackle the racial angle? In any case, every country has psychopaths and serial/spree killers. This one case, by itself, means nothing.That being said, the statistics about the violence in the now black-led South Africa are consistent with the violence in other black countries, particularly those that are urbanized/have white people present. Blacks are more prone to crime and violence, and this is found the world over. The demands of white developed society only exacerbates this problem, because it puts blacks out-of-reach of the goodies that society has to offer and fails to give them something to occupy themselves with (like daily subsistence), leading to crime. |

The 3rd world is a sad violent place. But 43,000 rapes per year is horrible even for a 3rd world country like SA. That averages to about 825 rapes per week, what civilized place would tolerate that. |
