Their message is one of divisiveness. Even if it were just Republican versus Democrat, but it's much more than that. I could probably say the same thing about progressive radio, however like most people I have never listened to it so I won't.

When was Rev Wright relevant other than as a campaign issue? I never even heard of him before Obama came along.

I didn't mean to place him at the "status" of the others. What I meant is, that people like him won't be able to preech their hate, as a big part of their hate agenda amunition has been erased.

Sharpton is only relevant in the NYC area.

Again, I mean people like him. He just lost a big part of his agenda too. Poof, they are irrelevant.

And BTW, you didn't participate in any of the threads where this was bing discussed this whole time, and now all of a sudden you have the nerve to interject for the purpose to "attack"?
And yes, people had every right to defend their candidate before the election. Every right. That does NOT mean that after the election is decided, that the right thing isn't to back the person who was the opposition. That is the PROPER way to move forward as a nation.

TO illustrate. In the primaries, you had "Hillary" people and you had "Obama" people. The ATTACK post you made criticizing the "Republicans" (lol, I am not even a Republican) for backing McCain is no different for the Hillary Democrats coming over to Obama after Hillary lost. Do you think Obama would have won or the Democratic party would have won if they hadn't mostly joined together as one again AFTER the primaries? It's no different than The McCain people coming together after the election back to unite back as WE the nation.

Unfortunately though, it's people like you that perpetuation the "us" and "they" ugliness apparently, which divides the country. It's not supposed to be "us" and "them", it's WE. It's all well and good when you are supporting one candidate and others another candidate in the elections. That's normal, that's Democracy. But the next step after that has to be a united front once it's over. THAT is how we advance as a nation, and that is how we heal as a nation. Unfortunately though, we never healed from November 2000, and THAT is one of the big problems this country has, that I hope will be rectified.

I kinda felt McCain kinda threw away his campaign. Many times he could've tried to fight or hell pick a running mate that ppl at least heard of like Romney [his background w/the economy] could've really helped.
The Wall St meltdown also kinda helped Obama win. Ppl were all concerned about that rather than Iraq/National Security.

I mean i really doubt Obama can make a difference there any differently than McCain would have.

Plus if ppl voted for Obama based on race - I'm sorry, but they have no right to vote at all. Voting should be based on issues, not race or likability.

McCain wanted to win in 2000. McCain should have won in 2000. He wanted to run a different kind of campaign and run as the "straight talk express." Unfortunately, he got beat by the Bush campaign in the 2000 primaries.

McCain's problem is that he embraced the same type of campaign that in 2000 beat him in the Republican Primaries (the attack the other guy and not talk about myself strategy). If McCain would have focused on himself, his experience, and his passon and desire to be President we wouldn't be talking about an Obama victory here. McCain/Lieberman would be the President and Vice-President elect. Unfortunately, McCain sold out and lost the election as a result

when he picked Palin, i felt it was over. At that point even Lieberman as VP would've been a more sound choice. Anyone that had experience or at least was known to more ppl than an unknown would've been a better choice.
Thing is I agree, McCain in 2000 would've been great, sadly he became too much like Bush 3 and that's another reason the key states voted Obama. Neither Obama nor McCain were my choices and it came down to which one would be less worse. Obama the unknown or McCain who would've continued Bush's policies to an extent.

Well looks like it's 4 more years to find out if Obama is a savior or will destroy the country. At least maybe now perhaps the GOP will find the next Reagan or someone.

Republicans may not have been enthusiastic about McCain, but most would have voted for him anyway as a vote against Obama. Without Palin and Wurzelbacher on board, independents would have been more easily swayed. The GOP made the mistake of pandering to thier base instead of swaying independents.
