Voting irregularities do happen. The first time that I voted in Carson, I had to go to someones garage to vote. After I filled out my ballot and was about to put it in the ballot box one of the volunteer workers behind the table told me that I needed to give it to her. Like an idiot I did and she just held it in her hand with some other ballots and walked around looking busy. I stood there for 30 seconds or so in disbelief, but I never saw her put it in the box. I noticed that the people voting after me were putting their ballots in the box and not giving it to her. She asked one person to give her his ballot, but he said no, put it in the box and walked away. I never called her on it or complained, but I still wonder whether or not my ballot was counted. Maybe it all turned out for the best as two of the people that I voted for were indicted (seriously) within the year. |
