LOL, "95 percent of scientists". Yes, it's a real good one. Take it for granted that they're scientists.

And it's not nonsense when they're doing it for government money. Not a shred of integrity. Same thing that happened in the USSR.

Oh, if you'd only face reality.

,i>I believe that wind turbines can kill animals, I just don’t think it makes it worse than coal.

Higher temperatures will kill far more animals, including very large mammals like whales, than wind turbines ever would.

That doesn't mean there shouldn't be research into making all new sources of energy as safe and environmentally friendly as possible. And the research should proceed with much greater speed than, say, the research that made cars safer for people.

She's partially right. Her excessively drastic solutions have the result of promoting despair. The correct response to the climate crisis is putting your nose to the grindstone and just achieving one carbon use reduction after the other, bit by bit.

The world population will not put up with just not using energy, which is what she recommends. "So the US and Europe got a middle class lifestyle and now you're blocking us from it? No way."

We need to harness more of the sun's energy into useful forms of motion, rather than excess heat.

True indeed.
That's why Training is of the upmost importance, especially when it concerns gun maintenance.

How to properly handle a weapon is paramount to the safety of all around.
Being prepared for a "situation" should be second nature to a weapon owner, including dealing with "jamming".

Like I said, maintaining your weapon, keeping it in "Working condition, full readiness",is the Duty of every owner.

You treat your weapon like it is the most important thing you own, because it is.

Don't get caught smoking a cigarette, vape or something that even looks like a cigarette cigar.

I have no doubt that at least once in the entire history of offshore wind turbines, at least one whale has gotten confused by the sound of a turbine and done something fatal as a result.

Of course, the solution to that is to keep using carbon fuels to the max and see how many whales die from higher water temperatures.

I've read that ship strikes are the culprit.
NOAA does a study and releases preliminary findings saying that of their subjects 40% are confirmed ship strike victims and the rest are undetermined or still under investigation. Of course opponents to wind farms will seize upon "what about the other 60%?" and claim it has to be wind farms without evidence to back it up.

Anything is possible but at this point in time there isn't evidence backing up the "windmills kill whales" claim just like there's none to back up "windmills cause cancer".

Climate change means New York City's flooding is 'new normal,' governor says

(Reuters) -Torrential downpours that caused flash flooding in New York City on Friday reflect a "new normal" due to the effects of climate change, New York Governor

warned on Saturday, as the city began drying out after one of its wettest days ever.

Almost eight inches (20 cm) of rain fell in some parts of the most populous U.S. city, enough to enable a sea lion at the Central Park Zoo to swim briefly out of the confines of her pool enclosure.

While the risk of flooding in the city had receded by midday Saturday, a municipal hospital in the borough of Brooklyn said it would evacuate all patients and staff following a power failure on Friday.

NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull had switched to backup power after Friday's neighborhood outage, but repairs will require the power to be shut off entirely for several days, hospital officials said. The facility was transferring its 120 patients to other hospitals on Saturday, a process expected to take eight hours.

The intense rainfall turned some streets into rivers, stranding buses and cars for hours, and forced some subway and commuter rail lines to shut down. Flights were delayed or canceled, and one terminal at LaGuardia Airport was evacuated.

"This is unfortunately what we have to expect as the new normal," Hochul said.

A state of emergency, which allows faster allocation of resources to deal with a crisis, will remain in effect for the next six days, Hochul said. No fatalities were reported as a result of the storm.

President Joe Biden was briefed on the flooding on Friday and Saturday, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency was prepared to assist if needed, according to the White House.

Being transferred out of Woodhull to another hopital is the best thing that could happen to the patients. In the NYPD we called Woodhull Woodkill. As long as they weren't transferred to Brookdale which is worse.
