What animal can subsequently figure out that it might be a better way to catch prey than using teeth and claws? Back to chimpanzees: they can be trained to get addicted to nicotine, via smoking cigarettes. |

Might as well call nest-building, dam-building (by beavers), hive-building and burrow-building "construction". All instinctive behavior. Besides, my point about not calling the humans in the OP "animals" is, besides the use of the word as an epithet, is the removal of accountability that the word also implies. |

They don't need to use a gun, plus no handler wants to teach them how to use or supply them with one, so no gun use. No, tool use is using external objects to accomplish a task. Nest-building and dam-building are not, by themselves, tool use because the sticks and twigs are being used as building materials, not to assist in the actual building. If a beaver were to build a sled to carry the sticks to its dam, then it would be tool use. Using an epithet doesn't remove accountability. |
