You can probably teach apes to do it, if you can give them a reason toFind an ape than can reason. If they can get that far, then they can construct their own guns. They can't (and won't) get to the stage of using fire to roast iron ore; they do not even get to the notion of using fire for anything, much less cooking, and fire is something they instinctively avoid. Apes have used tools, along with birds and dolphins That's not tool use; tools are used to build something more complex than the tool itself. Might as well call nest-building, dam-building (by beavers), hive-building and burrow-building "construction". All instinctive behavior. Besides, my point about not calling the humans in the OP "animals" is, besides the use of the word as an epithet, is the removal of accountability that the word also implies. |
