It's that he wants the Commerce Department to restrict the applicability of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996, which provides Twitter with protection against libel suits due to falsehoods posted by its contributors. I wonder if he realizes that under the proposed executive order, since Twitter will have less protection against libel suits, it will have to do more censoring on its own, and will have to delete Trump's account to protect itself. |
