I hope the low-income dwellers move in and get along just great with the Democrats in the area.

I don't much like liberals.

Of course. Conservatives explicitly endorse racism, sexism, homophobia, religious bigotry, and the segregation of society into a controlling rich and a legally inferior poor, but liberals are the real intolerant ones because a bunch of hypothetical liberals who almost certainly don't exist believed a housing project should be placed at a slightly different location.

As I said, I have heard precisely zero liberals express intolerance, but I have heard many conservatives complain about the intolerance expressed by an alleged group of liberals who are vaguely alluded to but never identified with enough detail to determine whether or not they actually exist. You being one of those conservatives, and this being one of those times.

What if one doesn't question their existence, but Luch's characterization and his conclusions about them?

Seems the objection to the Cooper site is that it would prove difficult for those seeking work, a site closer to public transportation would be better for them. Plus the plant was used for manufacture of aviation parts, which means it's likely quite polluted. Is it right to have people living in that? Is the cost of proper cleanup excessive?

Seems to me an alternate site would be a more cost effective choice, and proximity to the subway a wiser idea. Obviously Luch is not listening to the whole story.

Just to remind you, we are talking about a group of purely hypothetical liberals that LuchAAA made up.

The article he posted references a few people concerned with the precise location of the housing project but perfectly fine with having it in their neighborhood. It is. They are the same people that would be pushing for this development if it was in a different neighborhood, away from theirs, and would be criticizing anyone from that neighborhood that didn't want it there. That is hypocritical.
It's "fine" to not want it in your neighborhood, but then don't expect that another neighborhood should have to take it on. (thats when it's not hypocritical).

Really? what concern is that? what about the housing project that sits at the corner of College Point Blvd and Roosevelt Ave? It sits right across a new hotel and a new mall/luxury condos.....or the QueensBridges House in LIC that sits near NEW apartment with high-rents and high-price tags.....it does not seem to bother them for developing the area.

Usually.

But in this case, it's a hot local topic and lefty pols like Schmuck Schumer and others seem to be against this project.

My lefty friends are against it. Lefty politicians are not for it.
