You are doing something to a human body that, at the absolute basic biological level, it's not designed to do. At least there should be some sort of safety net should something go wrong, of which there is always a possibility.People are so quick to make a fuss in this department. You look at any law effecting abortion as an attack on it. The state has the right to protect the health and well being of it's residents. As such it has every right to regulate the practice and practitioners of medicine within it's borders. If the state feels that abortion clinic doctors should have hospital admitting privileges to be able to preform what is essentially a SURGICAL PROCEDURE, then that's how it should be. |

If you make it too difficult to get an abortion people will do it themselves as they have done in the past. Or they'll go to some quack like they did in the past. Nobody thinks about this, even when phrases like "Public Safety" or "protection of the public" pass their lips.Secondly, there are and have been safe places to get abortions done for many years now. Leave them be and you won't have a public safety issue. Your pal, Fred |

If a woman has bleeding related to a procedure, an ambulance to any ER would result in proper admittance by hospital staff.Fewer and fewer early term abortions are being done surgically as well. There is no reason whatsoever that any woman can't take a prescribed medical abortion pill (yes it's one pill now, far safer and involves less hormones) in her home with properly understood instructions as to what will happen and what to look out for. |

There is a safety net, even for this, among the safest surgical procedures there are (getting a tooth pulled is riskier). It's called a trip to the ER, followed with treatment and/or admittance to hospital if necessary. |
