Unfortunately, many people no longer believe in the First Amendment.A different issue from the main thrust of this thread, but I've learned to my displeasure that almost NO ONE believes in the First Amendment, except that it means "it protects MY right and those I agree with to free speech; everyone else I'm not so sure." They don't say it in so many words, but it works out that way. I can't even accuse them of hypocrisy; they don't really seem to see the contradiction. |

What happens when someone makes comments that are bad for his employer's bottom line? Right wingers have no problem with corporations being allowed to fire employees at will, unless of course he expresses some objectionable ultra-right ideology that actually hurts his employer's bottom line by causing customers to look elsewhere.A&E is not the government.
