Bush and later, India can't even be located on the map or spelled, but amazingly a fanatical country headed by a non-democratic coup is now our best ally, with the same access to the US as NATO. India, the people in it, aren't really liking Bush or his visit there. And as a British Colony, they have more in common with us than Pakistan. |

Bush and later, India can't even be located on the map or spelled, but amazingly a fanatical country headed by a non-democratic coup is now our best ally, with the same access to the US as NATO. I like some of Bush's policies but not others. He can be incredibly boneheaded at times (remember Harriet Miers?), but he shows signs of intelligence at others (at least getting around to blabbering about reducing oil dependence, something that came to me as something he was kinda forced to do, and the idea of getting back to India). Maybe he's still a "pushover" at heart. Question: since when was Pakistan "our best ally"? I can name countries friendlier with America than Pakistan is (well, over a period of the past several years): Israel (which has a longterm alliance with US) Canada (of course) and Mexico (which got friendlier after the Fox election, I think) Japan and South Korea (thank you, Macarthur and Co. - note: there has been an economic rivalry going on between America and the Asians, but this mostly plays out in the realm of business politics, rather than military politics, and so far seems to be friendly, some grousing over the Second World War and its causes notwithstanding.) Great Britain (I'll bet speaking of English has something to do with this) Several small Caribbean countries (dependent on US economy in large measure, thanks to floating oceangoing palaces and relatives sending money "back home") Australia and New Zealand (English-speaking) |

I see your knowledge of the world around you is sadly limited, especially when it comes to the existence of the USSR's very pervasive welfare system (universal healthcare, universal state education, a common income level, collectivization of everything, ad nauseam). Just to reiterate, here are the "ten planks" from the Communist Manifesto.
are you claiming the USSR wasn't communist? Are you claiming that they lived up to absolutely everything they put in writing? On top of that, are you claiming that they had a state religion?? |
