There are striking similarities. They were both wanton crimes (although this crime was physically far more horrific). But in this case too the Texas guy who was just executed blamed the crime on the other guy (his friend) who was there, just as Davis has done. The biggest difference that I can is that only Davis was convicted, in the Texas they gave BOTH of the prime suspects the Death Penalty.
