Long Island in Valley Stream is quite different that Long Island in Montauk. And it's very different from Nisseqogue to Oyster Bay to Greenport too. I can't even compare two many areas to eachother. Even Nassau County which is fairly small in the scheme of things is VERY different if you compare the north shore to the south shore to the middle. And even different south shore areas are very different than eachother, as are different mid sections to eachother and different north shore sections to eachother. The same with Suffolk.
Even today where I have been to most stretches of Long Island I find an area I have never been to before and seems so different.
