A good general rule is that Wikipedia isn't a good place to get the final word on any topic for which there is academic controversy, because owing to its policy of neutrality it will present both "sides" of the argument, even if both sides do not deserve merit.It's OK to be critical, as you should be. And, at this point, it is possible in principle for race differences in intelligence to due to environmental factors, but in light of all the evidence that is extremely unlikely. (If blacks are poor because they are oppressed or started poor, why are they poor the world over, even in countries that have been black-run for centuries, and why do other initially underprivileged groups, like Japanese indentured servants in Brazil, now do well?) You have to pose bigger and bigger stretches for that to be the case, and after awhile, Occam's Razor cuts more deeply. |
