Articles in the paper?Articles in the paper state that they come from countries all over South America, not just Mexico. When I go to Koreatown and see Asians I assume that they are probably Korean. When I go to Pico-Union I assume that the Hispanics are Salvadorean. When I see black males on the blue line wearing too much purple Lakers gear or other purple I assume that they are Grape Street. This is all common sense. Not always accurate, but it is what it is. Two wrongs don't make a right. I personally hate that if I wear a color other than white or black then I'm probably going to be seen as a gang member to most people (including other black people). I can only imagine how much a Guatemalan for an example would hate to always automatically be assumed to be Mexican. |
