The Times article rather lazily accepts management's quote about "9 weeks of paid leave." It turns out this consists of 5 weeks vacation, 2 weeks of sick leave, and 14 vacation days. This is hardly out line for factory workers in this country.Something's not right here; 5 weeks vacation + 2 weeks sick time + 14 vacation days = 9 weeks of paid time off. And that IS out of line for factory workers in this country. Even someone with 10 years in doesn't get that kind of paid time off. That's some union. your pal, Fred |
