Crime seems to be down from its 2020/2021 peak, both in New York and nationwide. It's actually surprising that New York has benefitted from this trend, given how soft on crime it is, but I suppose there's no arguing with a good thing. Based on my somewhat limited experience, I both live and work in Suffolk County, I haven't really noticed the streets and subway getting dirtier, but views may differ.As I've said many times before the city's biggest risks by far are WFH and the loss of factories, but that's nothing new. |
