No postmortem examination of Roosevelt's body was done to definitively ascertain that the President didn't have polio, the historically correct diagnosis in the US for patients presenting with FDR's symptoms during that era. Your own Wikipedia link confirms that GBS as a clinical diagnosis was not used or widely known in the United States until after WWII, that is, until after Roosevelt died.

Most historical accounts of FDR, including the FDR Museum, the White House Presidential archives, and the Federal Register, all concur that FDR had poliomyelitis, and this, along with hypertension and an acute CVA, were what ultimately killed him. GBS was a novel diagnosis not yet available to US physicians during the Roosevelt years, and in any case, as the symptoms of both diseases are very similar, we cannot speculate beyond what is actually known of FDR's medical history, Wiki notwithstanding.
