Your idea that people will stop moving to or investing in New York because it lacks a NASCAR track is preposterous.Los Angeles lacks an NFL franchise. Do you feel this makes it a second class city? Despite your hatred of it, pro football is way more popular than stock car racing. Lacking an NFL team is less of a problem because the NFL's mainly a television sport. You can't go to games in person unless you spend years on a waiting list and pay thousands of dollars for season tickets. NASCAR is much more of an in-person experience, though of course it's also on TV. My LIRR/NYCT blog |
