1. Gay men aren't the only people that get HIV.

2. Bloodborne pathogen (BBP) screening procedures have made four decades of progress since this policy went into effect, and all donated blood undergoes multiple checks before it ends up in the blood bank.

The only thing the current ban on blood donation from non-celibate gay men dies today, is reinforce the false stigma that gay men are "dirty" and "diseased".
