I'll tell you what won't work: telling a 20-something that he has to buy insurance he perceives he doesn't need at an inflated price so my 60-something wife can have affordable insurance. It's a non-starterThe price for the 20-year old isn't inflated. It's real: actual average medical costs plus insurance company overhead. It just doesn't look real because most 20-year olds have $0 medical costs while a few have humungous costs. Consider it a tax on the healthy that supports the unfortunate unhealthy and be done with it. |
