By hitting on adverse selection you're revealing the basic error of Obamacare. And you're begging the question that Obamacare is the right thing to do. Forcing everyone into it to avoid adverse selection suggests that it isn't such a good idea.My wife and I are at the age (and have been for awhile) where we would be frightened to be without medical insurance. So the answer (if we couldn't provide for it ourselves) is to figure out a way to get insurance for people like us. I'll tell you what won't work: telling a 20-something that he has to buy insurance he perceives he doesn't need at an inflated price so my 60-something wife can have affordable insurance. It's a non-starter. |
