That could have a lot to do with downed trees making roads impassable. If they can't make delivery, the stations run out.

It takes about 2 hours per tree to clear it (statistic provided by National Grid) and remove any wires from it, which are a hazard WRT opening roads. You know that, you said you cleared 5 trees after the storm.

Port of Brooklyn was closed much of the week. That's about the only way to get gas to LI that doesn't involve accessing a bridge or tunnel, both of which were unavailable most of the week.

This is a crisis one has to be patient, improvise and STOP WHINING!!! You guys are getting back on your feet faster than typical, and you don't have the decency to comprehend how much effort is being made on your behalf.
