Saw some 665x from Manhattanville (still with Manhattanville stickers) on the Q27 earlier today.

Details, if any?

I am pretty surprised that they are moving the 2nd batch of O7's to QV. I notice that MV sends out their buses to QV a lot.

Rumor has it that there is a swap that's going to take place BUT it was suppose to be between Queens Village and Mother Clara Hale (Orion 07.501 Low Floor Hybrids #6690-6749 for milage purposes). Looks like that's changed!

There are 9 Orions currently being tested with WABCO air compressors. The buses are as follows:
FP-6506,6529,6569
MTV-6641,6644,6655
QV-6438,6462,6464.
The buses are to run excusively are the B52,M18 and Q88 respectively.
A swap has occurred to study the data which is dowloaded via the data logger.
Currently we have 6569 now and QV has 6655.
I heard also that a similiar swap occurred between FP and QV but I don't know exactly which buses.
Today tech services came to collect data from our three buses (MTV) so we tripped them out and did not run them on the M18's today.
But tommorow we will try to run all three on the m18 or at least two of them.

Whats funny is that the Supt. in my depot doesn't really now much about it either. He knows that WABCO makes brake parts and anti-lock equipment for the Orion but this specific part being tested is called "WABCO Air compressor" and thats all.

Hey Mr. Brian! Well, Mr. Mabstoa just explained the the situation was. This was his explanation:

"There are 9 Orions currently being tested with WABCO air compressors. The buses are as follows:
FP-6506,6529,6569
MTV-6641,6644,6655
QV-6438,6462,6464.

But tommorow we will try to run all three on the m18 or at least two of them."

Now I did hear that there was suppose to be a swap between Queens Village and Mother Clara Hale (#6690-6749 series) BUT now that looks to be unlikely at this point...but you never know.

The MHV 2004 Orion 7's and the QV Orion 7's are very different. The MHV buses run like they are straight diesels and seem a bitter louder. I would know this because I see these buses while I'm at work on 5th Ave.

Like I said, the memo SUGGESTED that the three buses in each depot involved in the test run ONLY on the respective lines. At times in the mornings the buses are parked and buried to you try to get the shifters to dig them out for routes that pull0out but you aimply can't do it.
Also, maintainence may decide to release the bus after all the runs of the lines pulled out, or they want the bus back right away after the rush to collect data.
It could many reasons why they won't run on the preferred list.

That we can't figure out.
I figured the M18 would be picked since it only has I believe 6 runs for the day, thus only three buses are needed for the entire day, from around 6AM-9PM. Its the same 6 operators except for a few floaters and the route is very short.
I don't know anything about the Q88 or B52 since I've always been a OA man, at least about number or runs, length of route or operators during the day.
Like last Thursday all three of the buses we have (6641,6644, and 6569) were trippers. They wanted them back at 10 AM for data collection, so we couldn't run them on the M18's that day.
On Friday they let two of the buses go holding 6644 for body work, so we put 6569 and 6641 on the m18 for that day and I believe 9036 was the other bus.
Everyday is a mystery at NYC buses, I can only imagine the confusion downstairs in subways. It takes very talented people to do this job well.

The memo's state that the 9 buses are to only run on the lines I mentioned.
At the end of the memo it states "your cooperation is greatly appreciated" not "be advised of this directive".
Thus, we try our hardest to get our 3 buses on the M18, at least when we are able to with easiest convienence.
However, as mentioned, MTV has 236 buses scattered on three floors. Sometimes a bus will be buried so deep somewhere that it would be impossible to get it by the time the three M18 buses pull-out in the morning.
All yard personnel are instructed about the project but things happen.
No one will be written up or disciplined if it can't be done if we tried.

Yeah, just like a poster in this thread said he observed one of the special buses on another line other than the B52.
If its a DIRECTIVE then its another thing,
Like when we had a Gillig testing in out depot last year. The GM of Manhattan DIRECTED to us that it only run on the M60. At least it was not specified what run, just the m60, which gave us a lot more lee-way.
In the mornings we have about 13 m60 pullouts from 4AM-8AM.

The try to put it on the longest rotation of a run on a route. For instance a run that pulls out at 5:30 in the morning and won't be scheduled to return to after midnight. They're aren't many long rotations like that but we have them.
