Letters used by NYCTA or MTA-BUS match their perspective borough, so N is just fine for Nassau. Otherwise, people would be confused.

Example, L4 FREEPORT sounds odd, leave those route numbers for WMATA, CTransit, etc. It already consfusing enough.
