Have You Ridden the M90 Bus?

Posted by nh153 on Sun May 28 21:04:49 2023

We know there's an M9 and an M96. How about the M90? It doesn't run in Manhattan. It's in Brooklyn and Queens. I wonder why it is called the M90? Isn't there a sign for "M Subway Shuttle"?

The M90 is the free shuttle bus for when MTA crews are working on the M subway tracks. This weekend, until early Tuesday morning, it's running from the Broadway/Myrtle Av. subway station on the J line to Metropolitan Avenue, the terminal for the M line.

Like the B13 and the B20, it has to run on some narrow one-way streets. Sometimes I wonder how it gets between the parked cars on either side of 37th Ave. And it had a tough time making the left turn onto Fresh Pond Road, where the MTA subway repair trucks were blocking the sides of the narrow road. You'd think they'd have some consideration for the bus drivers trying to get through!
