These are all neighborhood mom & pop (and extended family) places, with limited exception. There isn't much in the way of major chain stores that would attract people from outside the neighborhood, since there are closer locations to their neighborhoods. These M&P shops are staffed by family and friends, or their immigrant labor arrives by bicycle, which has nothing to do with the availability of bus service and more to do with their lifestyle and living arrangements.The exceptions arrive by car, and they're not going to choose the bus. |
