They won't take transit for shopping or leisure trips if they have a car.I don't think so, if Hylan Boulevard passengers take the bus to go shopping, then I don't have any doubts that the less wealthier Todt Hill houses passengers would. Rerouting the bus as you suggest will remove the direct to the ferry and mall service that already exists. And since I JUST walked it, it takes all of 6 minutes to walk from Victory Blvd to the Todt Hill Houses. Not worth it logically, and from a financial standpoint, illogical. The few passengers that would lose their service would have to walk around 5 minutes max, and it's in the entire area's best interest. Bradley Avenue riders won't fight against the cost-neutral rerouting as hard as the Todt Hill Houses and business owners along Manor Road will fight for it. |
