In conjunction w/ other measures this is better than no protection at all.Definitely. Let me start out on that point of agreement. By the time you get motivated the B/O can duck or take other evasive action. Practically speaking, it's a tight space, and the farebox side of the "compartment" offers access to someone motivated to slash. This isn't a mellow person that we're talking about who is going to be taking a knife to the B/O. I think that if one is serious about a partition, it has to be all the way, and not partial. Of course, that presents practical problems too. One of the main problems is that the B/O becomes embroiled in a confrontation with the unruly passenger. This has to be avoided. Enforcement of farebeating has to be left to police personnel. |
