To be honest with you I grew up in Bay Ridge Brooklyn and lived near the old Fifth Ave Depot so I only remember bus 2037 which was sent over in her "twilight" years as an extra I guess we had a shortage of buses, and yes the seats matched the interior green on the inside of the bus as close as possaible---the same as the 1000's everything was identical except naturally the bus numbers. You must remember when these museum buses were restored they try to match the paint for the seats as close as possiable.My favorite bus was the NYCTA 1958 GM Old Looks 9000-9120 with the pink "wrap around fiber glass seats" it was strange seeing an old look with fiber glass seats in those days. |
