Yes, in Spring 1978 on the old R4- which has since been replaced by the S59. I had just started busfanning on Staten Island and was intrigued by this strange and different type of bus.Was YUK even open at that time? It seemed that every Staten Island bus I rode circa 1977-79 had 'SI' on the fare box. Four years later I got the same type of bus on FLU's Q16. By that time, it seemed like any Fishbowl and Flxible could be found anywhere. FLU even had 1968 Batwings for the first time in over ten years- and 1969 Flxibles, which had NEVER run on Queens Division routes. |
