It's not a presumption that one is entitled to respect in the ordinary sense, however. Jack the Ripper who is caught actively gutting a woman's body is presumed innocent by the law until proven guilty in a court of law or until he lawfully concedes the same. He is not presumed innocent by anyone who is cognitively functional.Irrelevant in this context. Steven was not caught. A photo of the "incident" is all that we have, and that photo leaves enough unanswered questions to warrant him not being presumed guilty. |
