I would not run trains at night as a fair concession to those would would literally hear trains running in their back yards.There are people everywhere in the city that have trains running through their backyards, yet they survive, and people have no trouble selling their houses along those lines. So why are these Rego Park people "different" that they couldn't survive (or sell their house or lease another apartment) if it's such a big deal. They'll be other people willing to rent, or other people willing to buy, just like they do along any rail or subway line in the city, or anywhere for that matter. |
