"Where's the rabbi?" "In the bathroom with the Father." You can make your own punchline.)Ouch! I didn't get that at first. Religious law states that a child of a mixed marriage would assume the religion of the mother. Yes, that is what seems to happen most of the time. Actually though, I do know an Italian Catholic woman that married a Jewish guy, and the kids were raised Jewish. I also know another Catholic girl that married a Jewish guy, and they were actually married in the Catholic church I believe, but one of the stipulations of marrying in the church, or through the church is that the kids MUST be raised Catholic, and so they are in this case. |
