The R train would get to maybe about 23rd or 14th Street in 47 minutes.False, at least according to MTA's timetables, which show approximate travel time between Woodhaven Blvd and Canal St to be 37-39 mins. And there is absolutely no way in any country or any planet or any galaxy or any universe those shitty R46's can go up to 60 MPH, no way, no matter what you say it is just plain impossible. R46's are not "shitty", and as for them going 60 MPH, can you say 60th Street Tunnel? |

The R doesn't get to go the whole length fast, it has to stop to make that track switching.Unlike the N, which does not have to stop at the middle of the tunnel to switch tracks. I have ridden that tunnel before, but on the N not the R. |

Have you ever ridden the train to Manhattan because after that switch into the 60th Street Tunnel its a straight run into 59th.The R doesn't stop in the middle of the tunnel to switch. It still picks up speed (not as fast going Manhattan bound) and the only things slowing it down are a N or W in front of it and because the tower has to do the switch for the R right after the N/W crosses the switch to go above ground. And with small headways during rush hour, chances are that they have to slow down the R in order to do the switch, which is why you end up stopped in the tunnel on the R. If you take it at night (about 9PM) to Queens when the N isn't in front of it and has passed by at least 5 minutes before the R, its a fast run as the tracks are switched already. |

The E gets me from Roosevelt to Chambers in about half an hour,The E takes more than half an hour to get to Chambers from there. your timing is horribly wrong. My timing comes from the MTA website as well as from personal experience. Your timing comes from personal opinion only. The R train would get to maybe about 23rd or 14th Street in 47 minutes. No it wouldn't. It would get from Continental to Whitehall St I suggest you check the schedule. And there is absolutely no way in any country or any planet or any galaxy or any universe those shitty R46's can go up to 60 MPH, no way, no matter what you say it is just plain impossible. Those shitty R46's are in way better shape mechanically than the R32's. Just ask Train Dude. Not to mention all subway cars can reach 60MPH in the 60th St. tube (with the possible exception of the R143 & R160's if they are speed governed). I can tell you've never ridden the E train anyway since you say it goes 30 MPH which is absolutely wrong, it usually goes 45 MPH going express. At least when I ride the E it goes 45 MPH. At least when I ride the E it goes 45 MPH. I take the E 6-7 days per week. The E only goes 45mph for a short stretch southbound past Roosevelt Ave. Otherwise the E never gets past 30-35MPH. And yes, I look at the speedometer every time I look out the RFW on the E. |

How are you a regular rider when you advertise the Excellent Express as you're commute? How can you be upset for a local train to take you two stops to transfer to your E?If you hate it so much, stop riding the R and V and walk it to the E,F instead of being a hypocrite and riding something you don't like. If you hate that part of your commute so much, why not change it instead of being so mad at the R? |

I take the E to work and on the way home I take the V to 71st and transfer to the E(unless I get a seat on the E or F(if I am at a 6th Ave station and transfer at Union Tpke)). It is much less stressful that way. You have no clue how horrible that R train is it never comes on time, The E never comes on time either. Almost no train in the subway comes on time. and it's so damn slow too! No it's not. The only places it is slow is the same place every other train will also be slow. They really should make the V train run on weekends, to make up for that shitty R train Actually, they should make the E run local on weekends. There is little need for 2 expresses when they are both emptier than the only local. |

Well, since you're near Forest Hills, why don't you just take the Q60 back to the F. Then you don't have to walk. You make the E seem as if its the fastest thing in the system when it really isn't. Let's see from the route from Queens to Manhattan. It's really quick to Forest Hills, but an F crosses it there. After a slow run to Queens Plaza, a V probably cuts in front of it so you get stalled again and after being freed up at 7th Avenue, you end up behind a C until, lets say, WTC, which is the end of the route! The only way the Excellent Express could be excellent is if the F went local and the E would be the only express route. But since the F will never go local, it will always be another express. |

If that can be done, that would be great and would severely increase flexibility whether the last part of the SAS in lower Manhattan gets built or not. As noted before, I would also include a connector if possibile to the Williamsburg Bridge that would allow for SAS serve from the Broadway Brooklyn line (as suggested before perhaps doing so with such trains going into a three-track 72nd street station that can serve as the terminal for perhaps a J or M train going uptown on second avenue. |

You obviously haven't taken it.The E is empty on weekends. You obviously haven't ridden it on weekends Regardless, there will be no weekend E local. I'm not having that. Get over yourself. You have no control over that. the E would be more useful on weekends if it was a local. One Queens express line already got screwed. No. Both expresses got improved. If you actually took other people's commutes into consideration, you would understand that. |
