Sadly I agree with you those trains shouldve had 0 chance of being in service, once thats seen that should be INSTANTLY taken out of service and quickly washed. Im sure in those videos all those trains were being taken out of service or running light to the yard to be cleaned. There was an article a while back about a europeans coming to NYC to bomb (tag) trains like you see. Its a two fold problem, I think underground storage should be ceased. |

I think this might have been posted on this board or SubTalk before (but no video was available)...and the cars SAT in the yard for several days.IMO, anyone doing graffiti on trains or buses should be forced to clean it up by himself or herself (under supervision of MTA personnel). |

Well, in certain places like Jamaica Yard, where they're OVER storage capacity, you have no choice but to store on the express tracks outside the yard leads, and lets not even talk about when it gets very cold/snowy. |

Due to the corrugations, R32s (and R38s) do not do well in paint, even when covered roof to sill. The corrugations cause shadows which detract from the overall visual impact. The R142s with their smooth sides make perfect canvases.wayne |

I agree the R-32's would be bad due to the reason you stated but I think it would work with the R-38 if the right colors are used or simply the design isn't too complex. I just took one look at it and it seems to me that it was probaly a group of foreign vandals. One of the portions showed New York on the bottom of the screen. I also noticed that it was vandalized about the time NYC was bidding for the Olympics. I noticed a sticker on one of the trains at Bowling Green. |
