As far as Brewster North goes, a small campaign to re name the station Putnam Junction or Put Junction went nowhere...like the location of the station, in the middle of nowhere.

An even more remote station is Campbell Hall on the Port Jervis Line. I used to joke that it was in the middle of a cow pasture. I wasn't far wrong. Its next to a horse ranch.

Southeast makes less sense. Who ever heard of a station named after a wind direction???

It is the town of Southeast. The village of Brewster is within the town.

So to paraphrase Jim, who ever heard of naming a town after a wind direction?
