Gotta try my best to be in town when they are running & catch a ride or two! Seeing those trains brings back memories as to the last time I rode in an R 1-9. It was in the summer of '75 and I was coming from the DMV at Sutphin Blvd on an E Train with new plates for my '63 Ford Galaxy which I paid $200 for. |

Too much crossing over. In fact, the one time it was going up CPW when I was on it they ran it express on local. |

Go to https://www.nytransitmuseum.org/holidaynostalgiarides/, scroll down to Routes, and you'll see that the Holiday Train isn't stopping at 14th and 23rd Streets. I assume the crossover will be at some point before or around West 4th St; probably easier to do it that way if the last stop is 96th & 2nd.--Mark |

The obvious thing would be to act like an F train from Houston/2 Ave to 57/6, then cross over to the Q track between there and 72/2. A single non-standard move in the entire run. |

And on Dec. 16, they covered the CPW dash in just over six minutes. Had that train gotten out of 59th a tad faster, it would have been a sub-six-minute run. Once it got going, it kept going full tilt until the timers before 125th. |
