Given the pics I've seen on Twitter with it being mostly Asians and that station being not too far from Brooklyn's Chinatown, you have to wonder if this is going to be proven to be a hate crime. Obviously, it's too early to tell, but it would not surprise me if it was. |

One cell phone video seems to show that the shooting was on the train. When the doors opened people, including the wounded, scrambled out of the train car and billows if smoke also came out from the train car. |

After all we are talking about a train that has come through several diversified neighborhoods en route to several other diverse ethnic neighborhoods. If the target were persons of one particular ethnicity, then the people on the platform might be more ethnically homogeneous. |

That was based on the information and the pictures I had seen:Sadly, Asians continue to be victims of hate crimes by many, especially if they blame such for the virus (which of course Asians here had ZERO to do with), even more so if they (or a family member) lost their job as a direct result of the virus and were severely impacted negatively by that. |

It is a matter of weighing risks.On Amtrak and NJT, I've seen people literally stand on the plates between cars entering NYP while zig-zagging over sharp switches into the station. There's diaphragms, but the offset between cars can be so the gangway is down to a foot in width, and they get that way very quickly. People are stupid. On a subway train, they'd be falling out all the time. |
