What street would this be on?A reverse image search bought me to this page. According to the map and the last comment posted (scroll the photo comments portion all the way down), it's Long Beach Boulevard, which was known as American Avenue when the photo was taken. |

You can see an LAMTA PCC streetcar in the background. That looks like narrow gauge trackage, yet PE cars ran on standard gauge track. No dual-gauge track in the photo. Those narrow-gauge PCC trucks wouldn't have worked on PE cars, would they> |

It isn't narrow gauge; look at the automobile width. PE's interurban cars, of the type that ran to San Bernardino, were large, perhaps even commuter-rail sized like the South Shore Line in Illinois/Indiana. Shared tracks with the LARy were dual gauge. |

A PE Blimp on dual gauge track could only be on 7th St, between Maple Av? and San Pedro St (shared with the LARy/LATL/LAMTA "R" and "S") or on San Pedro between 7th St and Olympic Blvd (shared with the S). |

Yep, and if the pic said it was the last run to the Rose Bowl, they were lying, as of course the Rose Bowl is in Padadena, not Long Beach, and PE rail service to Pasadena ended in 1951 (I don't know if the Blimps ever operated to Padadena, as they were assigned to the PE Southern District (Pasadena was in the Northern District, IIRC), of course there could have been a special service with a Blimp).Lotta dumbasses on Facebook :( |

Looks like it to me. The tracks of today are separated from traffic, albeit paved with concrete raised above the traffic lanes. |

It's in long beach which is way south of LA and the gold lone is north and east of LA.But on a different note the Pasadena/Azusa branch of the gold line will be rebranded the blue line after the downtown connector opens. Or perhaps just the A line. |

The existing Blue Line will be extended north of its current 7th Street/Metro Center terminus via the Regional Connector to Little Tokyo, then via the current Gold Line to Azusa (and maybe eventually Montclair). The East L. A. segment of the Gold Line will be extended through the Regional Connector and then will operate over the current Expo Line to downtown Santa Monica. In review:NOW: Blue Line: 7th St/Metro Ctr to Long Beach Gold Line: Azusa-Union Station-East L. A. Expo Line: 7th St/Metro Ctr-Santa Monica LATER: Blue Line: Azusa-Long Beach via Union Station Gold Line: East L. A.-Santa Monica |
