Here you go Joe (see page 83): Procurement of Locomotives and Railcars Bi-Level Railcars – The First Article Inspections (FAI) are continuing for the bi-level railcars. Twenty-seven inspections out of the required 44 have been completed. During Pre-Testing for the Carshell Compression Test, several weld areas failed. The test was halted and an evaluation of the issues is being investigated. Due to the carshell test issues, carshell production has been phased down until the issue is resolved. Fire Safety Tests on materials are 93 percent complete. Several Quality Assurance audits and Manufacturing Readiness Review meetings continue to take place at Nippon Sharyo. |

First car review (equivalent to pre-First Article Inspection) of the the new prototype car is taking place this month. Going by that, I would conservatively estimate end of this year for delivery of the prototype consist. However, depending on Bombardier's financial situation that forecast could be pushed out. |

It was mentioned that the car bodies were Computer designed. I did designs of other products, not train car bodies, but lacked the skills to do analysis testing. If these failed test bodies were computer designed and tested, why did they fail? Should we go back to the basics and not computer design/test things? This whole thing scares me. |

It came out pretty well The Tacoma Narrows Bridge was done on paper. It didn't It is not whether it is computer or paper, it is the accuracy of the modeling and analysis which can be good or bad in either method. |

Brian:I am 100% right: 1) The assembly line has stopped 2) Structural failures are massive 3) 2 rounds of layoffs eliminated this project's assembly line workers 4) Managers have been fired and sent back to Japan 5) FRA Oct 2017 deadline makes carrying out the order doubtful I don't know what part of that you can't comprehend, or you simply want to chant "you're wrong" like 4 yer old brat. |

The cars that were used on the "A" and "C" line(#3001-#3009)..I know they were ordered based on technonlogy tests...but could more be ordered?? |
