Didn't some of those cars end up on the BMT because of their similarity to the Standards?

Twenty five motors and five controlled trailers, though the trailers never saw service and ended up as storage or offices.

They came to the BMT because of a car shortage and were gone along with the Multi's when the R-27's debuted.

Euclid:There were five MP-72's that were loaned to Staten Island. The first three were 2505, 2517 and 2646, they were tested in May 1972 and entered service on June 15, 1972. They were followed by two more 2509 and 2513. All LIRR cars were withdrawn by April 1973.

Larry, RedbirdR33

PS: I have referred to these as MP-72's. Is that correct?

Thanks Joe, Those pics showing #501 & #508 in Coney Island yard would suggest one car was moved to 36th St yard which eventually was bought by TMNY and shipped to Kingston. IIRC, it was #501.

The car was used a gift shop / ticket office before the current building housing the same was built. Unfortunately, vandals broke in and set it ablaze. Years earlier, that car also suffered a fire when in 36th st yard too.

Here's the entry from "The Book of Wrecks."

Tuscarora Almanac - January 14, 1966 - The Book of Wrecks

A non-revenue of Q-Types lead by 1619C struck the former Staten Island Railway trailer car 2925 (x 504) in the Fresh Pond Yard. The impact was strong enough to push the ex-SIRT car through the block and down into the open cut of Long Island Railroad's Montauk Branch.
