That silver SIRT car at fresh Pond was hit by a Q type and pushed downonto the LIRR tracks. Here's the entry from "The Book of Wrecks." Tuscarora Almanac - January 14, 1966 - The Book of Wrecks A non-revenue of Q-Types lead by 1619C struck the former Staten Island Railway trailer car 2925 (x 504) in the Fresh Pond Yard. The impact was strong enough to push the ex-SIRT car through the block and down into the open cut of Long Island Railroad's Montauk Branch. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
