The third Amtrak Cities Sprinter is on its way to Wilmington; 600 and 601 went to the test facility at Pueblo. 602 was between P42DC 192 and 162 on train 30 Capitol Limited from Chicago, arriving WAS around 12:45 PM. Acela Express 2153 from Boston arrived simultaneously and was held for the Capitol to cross in front on its way into the station.

Uh-huh . . . more money blown by Amtrak (meaning on the HHP-8s, considering what their retirement age is going to be) . . .

Their leasers, they suck, so back to lessor they go.

Something is off about that design. It just lacks character somehow. Maybe a new paint job would help.

It needs that bug stain finish like the front of a Toaster.

Amtrak will apply its own livery after they accept the fleet.

If Amtrak doesn't want them, then who would ?

Perhaps, but it's amazing that Amtrak didn't get them replaced by the proven Traxx types (most prominent example the ALP-46, which Amtrak has operated on the Clockers, per video). And if they aren't suited for the fast corridor service, they could go to other services (e.g. MBTA, if they would electrify every track on the Attleborough/Providence service that is, or be used by Shore Line East) . . .

PS. Did the replacement trolls drive oaksmodelrr away? His last posts were last year.
