Only ten cars have been converted, so I would venture a guess that it won't receive an 11th car until late next year some time, when the brand new cars are built.I'm not certain how much testing will be required on this unit before it re-enters passenger service. With only ten cars, I wonder if it's possible this train will eventually return to Westchester Yard for (6) service. I can't imagine the (7) making an exception and running a ten-car train in the interim, even if it's just one. |

I suspect that the testing protocols will be that of a new car. This means that the cars will be instrumented and used in simulated service for weeks at least before they see revenue service. |

He is an unsung hero whatever that means so leave him alone. I wanted to be a T/O but, assuming for the moment for the sake of argument I passed the open competitive, I'd have little to no shot at getting through Schoolcar that much is pretty clear. On this board, I have been called foolish and ignorant and been labeled an ignoramus, an idiot, and a quote useless moron who needs to shut it unquote, along with some derogatory terms. Mind you, this occurred when I attempted to lend my considerable yet limited expertise to discussions about the technical aspects of NYCT to include SMEE, electric conduits/resistance, and signaling. I also lack the basic hand-eye coordination never mind the reaction time necessary. So leave him alone, and as always, thanks for everything. |

Were the R/188 Conversion Cars originally R/142's?If so, could the R110A's have been converted as well? They were Prototypes, after all, I would think, they would do well only as an express on the "7" during the AM and PM rush. The seating may inhibit passenger movement at multiple stops. avid |
