It almost makes me like the R46s a little- sort of a new thing.R-46's on the (C) or (CC) wasn't a new thing. They were assigned there in 1980 during that Rockwell HPT-2 truck fiasco. I think the reasoning was that the CC was a rush hour only line so the R46 cars were assigned there to minimize the risk that the trucks would crack until they could be replaced. We saw such cars as R-10's on the E and F lines during this time. You could imagine what kind of shape those cars were in by that time. |

I rode the R-10's twenty times on the "E" and six times on the "F". As for the "Hudson Terminal" signage on the cars...R-10 #3214, Union Turnpike, IND Queens Boulevard Line (1980). R-10 #3271, Chambers Street/World Trade Center, IND 8th Avenue Line (1980). -William A. Padron ["Queens-8th Av.Exp."] |

He says it screamed along Broadway and Queens Blvd. and positively went into jet propulsion mode along Hillside Ave. |
