Freight cars are actually narrower than passenger carsWhich ones are you referring to? Passenger cars have a max 10' 6" width; AAR Plates B through E specify a width of 10' 8". High/wides are even wider than that of course. |

Troop transports could be done with any train, however there were special troop trains made up of box cars with windows and inter car doors. They had a galley (kitchen) car with the division's own cooks doing the work.Him just thunk that a dingy green car looked like a troop car. But actually the SP cars were gray.
